Initial Setup Instructions

Hardware Requirements

  1. This TVBox will connect to 2.4Ghz or 5GHz WiFi

TV Remote and Keyboard Setup

  1. Install the mini-keyboard USB dongle, located in the mini-keyboard battery compartment into one of the USB ports.
  2. Install fresh batteries in the remote and keyboard.
  3. NOTE: In order to access all of the functions we suggest setting up ONLY the keyboard with batteries at least initially.

Connecting and Powering Up

  1. Connect the HDMI cable to the box and then connect the other end to one of the available HDMI ports on your TV.
  2. Connect the power adapter to the box and plug it into a powered outlet.
  3. The box should power-up (boot) and the MUMTI application will attempt to reach the internet but will fail.

Minimum Hardware Configuration

  1. The MumtiTV hardware needs to be given access to your Internet/Wifi.
  2. Use the function key F5 on the keyboard to access the "Hardware System Settings" menu. 
    NOTE: You can also use the Settings button with the Gear (cogwheel) icon to access the "Hardware System Settings" menu in case you decide to use the remote instead of the keyboard
  3. Select "Network & Internet" and connect the MumtiTV box to your WiFi.  Use the provided keyboard to enter the password to your WiFi network.
  4. Select "Device Preferences" then select "Date & time" option select your time zone (defaults to Pacific Standard Time = PST).
  5. Press the Home or Back buttons to return to MUMTI application.

Minimum Application Configuration

  1. By default the "Startup Page" is set to the "Adhan View" but the user can select from other views thru the "General Options / Startup View" like:

What if the Adhan View displays the Wrong City/Region?

  1. On the first startup MUMTI will attempt to find your location via an IP locator service however it could fail to pinpoint the desired city.
  2. If this happens you will need to access MUMTI Settings via the upper right cogwheel or pressing "O" for Options on the keyboard.
  3. Then open the "Adhan (Caller to Prayer" section
  4. Then manually type in the desired City. (Do no press on Load Current Location button as that will just reload the same information from the IP locator.
  5. Exit the Settings via the upper left back button or the Escape key on the keyboard.

  6. You may also adjust the Hijri date +/- a day according to your location.

General Navigation with the Keyboard

  • Use the provided mini-keyboard for all your interaction with MumtiTV
  • Pressing "H" or "?" on the keyboard will bring up the keyboard shortcuts cheat sheet.
  • Scrolling Lists

    1. Use two-fingers on the touchpad to perform scrolling in all lists

    Accessing the Major Views

    1. "O" navigates to the Options
    2. "A" starts and stops the "Adhan" view
    3. "B" starts and stop the "Background Images Player"
    4. "K" starts and stops the "Kiosk" player (AKA automated TV programming)
    5. "P" navigates to the PlayersView
    6. "M" navigates to the MediaView
    7. The "Esc"  Escape key will exit the current player or popup screen.
    8. When in the Media Selection the "Esc"  Escape key will back you out one level at a time in the selection.

    Media Playback

    1. "SPACEBAR" starts/stops the current Media.
    2. "V" bring up the "Volume Control Panel" where default settings for "Videos" and "Everything else"
    3. The audio volume is further controlled by the MUMTI box volume output setting controlled via the remote Volume Up/Down buttons, finally by the actual TV volume setting as well.

    Box Volume Settings

    1. The Volume Up and Down buttons control the volume out of the MumtTV box, leave this at about 80% to 100%.
    2. Volume Mute will mute audio out the MumtiTV box.

    Restarting the MUMTI Application

    1. Typically the key Right-Click mouse or the Back buttons will back-out from the built-in Android box Hardware System Settings menus.
    2. However, an extra button press will cause the application to restart.
    3. Therefor while in the Mumti Screens pressing the key a couple of times or tapping with two-fingers on the touchpad will cause the application to restart.

    TV Remote Main Functions

    1. Power button will power down and up the MumtiTV box.
    2. Cogwheel button will access the "System Settings" menu.
    3. Volume Up and Down
    4. Volume Mute
